SleepBetter Privacy Policy

SleepBetter provides audio for relaxation and sleep support. This policy describes the information used by the app and its service providers.

Information used by SleepBetter

• Anonymous app ID: the app creates a random UUID on first launch. It is used to keep app state, identify analytics events, and manage the one-time in-app trial. No Apple, Google, or email login is required.
• Product analytics: Firebase Analytics receives limited events such as onboarding choices, selected page views, timer actions, recommendation clicks, sound selections, subscription flow results, and counted track starts. The app uses the anonymous ID as its Firebase user ID.
• Crash diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports and device or app diagnostics needed to investigate failures.
• Audio delivery: the SleepBetter service and Cloudflare R2 deliver audio and may process the audio key, IP address, request metadata, and security logs. Audio is cached in encrypted form on the device for playback reliability.
• Bedtime reminders: if you allow notifications, supporting app versions send SleepBetter the device's Apple push token, time zone, app language, notification permission state, and the time you last listened, linked to the same SHA-256 analytics-link identifier described below. SleepBetter uses them only to send a reminder at 22:00 local time on nights you have not listened, and records whether each reminder was accepted by Apple, delivered to the device, and opened. Reminders stop when you turn notifications off in iOS Settings or delete the app; Apple may take some time to report a deleted app's token as inactive.
• Feedback: messages submitted from Help & Feedback are stored in SleepBetter's private service storage together with limited app and device diagnostics. No email address is required.
• Purchases: Apple processes subscription purchases, billing, refunds, and subscription status. SleepBetter verifies Apple's signed purchase information to unlock Premium audio and measure subscription revenue, renewals, and refunds. Revenue records include the product, purchase date, signed amount and currency when available, and hashed purchase identifiers. SleepBetter does not receive your payment card details.
• Apple Ads measurement: supporting app versions use Apple's AdServices to determine whether an installation is attributed to a SleepBetter ad. SleepBetter stores the first app-open time, hashed installation and analytics-link identifiers, and available campaign, ad group, keyword, and country information. The analytics-link identifier is a SHA-256 derived from the app's random anonymous ID and connects this attribution record with Firebase behavior events without storing the raw Firebase ID in the measurement ledger. A hashed Apple app-purchase identifier connects attribution with verified subscription records so we can measure advertising costs and paid results. AdServices tokens are used for the attribution request and are not retained in the measurement records. Unsent signed purchases are temporarily stored in a protected local queue for retry.

Information stored on your device

Preferences, onboarding choices, the anonymous ID, trial dates, playback state, favorites, and encrypted audio cache are stored on the device. You can remove local data by deleting the app. Apple subscription records are managed by Apple.

How information is shared

Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate SleepBetter: Apple for purchases, Apple Ads attribution, and push notification delivery, Google Firebase for analytics and crash diagnostics, and Cloudflare for audio delivery, security, and private attribution, revenue, and reminder storage. SleepBetter does not sell personal information.

Retention and choices

Analytics and diagnostic retention is controlled by the relevant provider settings and operational needs. You can limit analytics in iOS settings where supported, manage subscriptions through Apple, and contact the developer through the App Store listing for privacy questions or requests.
